Low pressure will track eastward from the central Great Plains today and cross central IL this evening. A light east to southeast breeze is expected today ahead of it's arrival, with the fastest speeds (around 10 MPH sustained, gusting up to 20 MPH) expected further south in the region (towards the IL border). The onshore winds from Lake Michigan will hold daytime highs to the upper 60s to low 70s today, with higher humidity and relatively poor mixing heights (except for central WI). Rain chances peak this afternoon and evening, with 60-85% chances along and south of the I-94 corridor, tapering down to around 20% further north towards central WI. Dry weather expected Monday, with northeast winds as the low pressure continues eastward. These NE winds could be gusty in eastern WI, particularly along the shoreline of Lake Michigan (25 MPH gusts). Highs in the 60s to low 70s for eastern WI, mid 70s further inland. Inland areas achieve good mixing heights (over 4,000 ft afternoon average) and smoke dispersal. Inland minimum RH in the 30s and 40s percent (lowest in areas north and west of Madison). Dry weather and light + variable winds for Tuesday. A localized lake breeze in eastern WI. Inland highs in the mid to upper 70s with good mixing heights, but relatively weak smoke dispersal due to the weak transport winds (generally less than 10 MPH).
